To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what was the amount of(a) live chickens and (b) frozen chickens imported into the United Kingdom in 1986.

In 1986, 743,820 live chickens (other than day-old chicks) were imported into the United Kingdom. In the same period, a total of 70,418 tonnes of fresh or frozen chickens were imported.
