§ Mr. LangRecent CBI and Scottish business surveys report an improvement in investment intentions in Scottish manufacturing, and higher investment will enhance the competitiveness of Scottish industry. This can only benefit the Scottish community.
As regards Inverclyde district, regional selective assistance offers of £3.4 million were made over the period 1 January 1985 to 31 October 1987. These were associated with project costs of £183.7 million and some 960 new or safeguarded jobs.
