Mr. Mallon

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland when and where a post mortem was held on Anthony Hughes, who died at Loughall police station in County Armagh; and what was the result of the post mortem.

The Attorney-General

[holding answer 1 December 1987]: I have been asked to reply as the Lord Chancellor is responsible for the work of coroners in Northern Ireland.

A post mortem was held in Craigavon area hospital on 9 May 1987 and a full autopsy report will be available for the purposes of an inquest which is to be held in due course.
