HC Deb 08 December 1987 vol 124 c154W
Mr. Campbell-Savours

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what contracts have been given to QED by his Department for supply of defence equipment to the middle east.

Mr. Sainsbury

It is not our practice to give details of contracts placed with individual companies as this information is commercial in confidence. Nor do we give details of sales to individual countries.

Mr. Campbell-Savours

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence (1) what contracts his Department has(a) negotiated and (b) entered into with QED Design and Development Ltd. since 1980;

(2) how many Browning pistols were the subject of the contract negotiated between his Department and QED Design and Development Ltd.; and what was the value of that contract.

Mr. Sainsbury

It is not our practice to give details of contracts placed with individual companies as this information is commercially confidential.

Mr. Campbell-Savours

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if any contracts between his Department and QED Design and Development have required end user certification.

Mr. Sainsbury

It is not our practice to give details of contracts placed with individual companies as this information is commercially confidential. End user certificates are, where appropriate, part of the export licence process and would not normally arise in a contract between the Ministry and a United Kingdom company.
