§ Mrs. ChalkerI took advantage of a transit stop in Johannesburg for a short talk with the South African Deputy Foreign Minister, Mr. Kobus Meiring. The conversation was mainly about Mozambique. I impressed on Mr. Meiring Her Majesty's Governments support for normalising relations between South Africa and720W Mozambique and desire to develop economic co-operation. I also made it clear that we wanted to see any problems between South Africa and other countries in the region solved by peaceful means.
