§ Mr. Michael WelshTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department when he expects to implement the August 1987 review of manpower at Her Majesty's prison Lindholme; and if he will make it his policy that no increase in the number of prisoners at Her Majesty's prison Lindholme will take place until after that date.
§ Mr. HurdThis review is part of the process of implementing fresh start. Consultation is still in hand, and implementation will take place as soon as agreement is reached. We can make no commitment as to the number of prisoners accommodated, which will depend in part on changes in the prison population.
