HC Deb 04 December 1987 vol 123 cc760-1W
Mr. Cousins

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services how many supplementary benefit adjudication officers have less than six months experience of adjudication work; how many are also section supervisors; and if he will provide this information separately for each of the former metropolitan county areas and for Greater London.

Mr. Portillo

Statistics are not collected on the information requested. It is regretted therefore that the information could be supplied only at disproportionate cost.

Mr. Cousins

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services, pursuant to his answer of 19 November, what were the total numbers of disallowances of unemployment benefit made by the adjudication officers at each benefit office in Newcastle upon Tyne for each year since 1980, broken down by reasons for disallowance that permit reconciliation with the summaries in the annual analysis of decisions of adjudication officers.

Mr. Portillo
