§ Mr. Wyn RobertsA modern foreign language will be one of the foundation subjects in the National curriculum for all children in Wales aged 11–16 under our proposals in the Education Reform Bill. In addition, my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Education and Science and I will be publishing shortly a joint statement of policy for modern language teaching in England and Wales.
