To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will introduce a system to record the types of hazardous waste imported into the United Kingdom and to record the sources of the hazardous waste.

Mr. Moynihan

Such a system will be introduced as part of the implementation of EC directive 84/631 on the trans-frontier shipment of hazardous waste. We intend to implement the Directive as soon as possible.
