§ Mr. David NicholsonTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what steps he takes to seek to ensure that United Kingdom public funds do not go to those organisations, claiming to represent or care for refugees on the Thai-Cambodian border, which are front organisations for the Khmer Rouge and Pol Pot.
§ Mr. EggarWe provide assistance to the Cambodian refugees in camps in Thailand through United Nations agencies. We also provide a small amount of bilateral humanitarian assistance direct to the non-Communist groups. We have stipulated to the United Nations agencies that our assistance must not go to the Khmer Rouge. They have assured us that it does not.
