Mr. Jackson

I met representatives of the Association of Technical and Managerial Staffs on 13 October. The Government are not involved in the pay negotiations of university technicians. It is for the universities to negotiate a settlement from within their resources in the light of their overall priorities and having regard to the need to recruit, retain and motivate appropriate staff.
