HC Deb 01 December 1987 vol 123 c509W
Mr. Campbell-Savours

To ask the Prime Minister whether the United Kingdom Government has entered into any contract with(a) Saladin Security and (b) Keenie Meenie Services since 1979; and if she will make a statement.

The Prime Minister

Details of contracts placed by other Government Departments are not recorded centrally. Records for my office are readily available only from April 1984. No contracts have been placed with, or payment made to, Saladin Security Ltd., or Keenie Meenie Services Ltd. by or on behalf of my office during that period.

As far as KMS is concerned, I also refer the hon. Gentleman to the answers given to the hon. Member for Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley (Mr. Foulkes) on 10 March 1987 and 17 March 1987, and to the hon. Member for West Bromwich, West (Miss Boothroyd) on 24 March 1987 at column 102.

Mr. Campbell-Savours

To ask the Prime Minister on what occasions since 1979 representatives of Her Majesty's Government discussed the use of Keenie Meenie Services or Saladin Security with Colonel Oliver North; and if she will make a statement.

The Prime Minister

It has been the practice of successive Governments not to answer questions about the details of discussions which may have taken place with foreign Governments.
