HC Deb 01 December 1987 vol 123 cc569-70W
Mr. Wallace

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if potential purchasers of his Department's housing are notified before they buy of the potential implications for compensation for latent damage under the Housing Defects Act; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Chope

I have been asked to reply.

Potential purchasers of defective house types are notified before they buy of the legal position with regard to latent defects. Their attention is specifically drawn to the defects likely to be encountered, and this is reflected in prices.
