§ Mrs. RumboldMy right hon. Friend plans to make available education support grants to some local education authorities in England in 1988–89, to support pilot work on the diversification of first foreign language provision in secondary schools. He will be considering how education support grants and grants for in-service training can best be used in future years to support the introduction of the national curriculum, including foreign languages.
