§ Mr. Douglas HoggWe have received applications from six of the seven fire and civil defence authorities to have their expenditure levels for 1988–89, which my right hon. Friend announced last July, re-determined at a higher amount. In addition to meeting delegations from two fire and civil defence authorities, my noble Friend the Minister of State has seen a delegation of hon. Members representing west Yorkshire constituencies to discuss the provision for that authority. In addition, we receive from time to time representations from individuals and organisations about a variety of matters relating to fire service resources.
