To ask the Prime Minister if she will raise at the next meeting of the European Council the recent report of the European Court of Auditors regarding the legality of the transfer of responsibilities for the cost of subsidised exports of butter surplus to member states; and if she will make a statement.

§ The Prime Minister
No. The EC Commission does not consider that the measure contravenes any financial rules. It will permit disposals of surplus butter, which would otherwise not have been possible, without adding to the immediate pressures on the Community budget.
