Member for Monklands, West (Mr. Clarke) whether he is now in a position to make a further statement on the implementation of the Disabled Persons (Services, Consultation and Representation) Act 1986 in Scotland.
§ Mr. John MacKayFollowing discussion with the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities, my right hon. and learned Friend has decided to implement sections 9, 10, 11, 12 and 14 of the Act from 1 June 1987 and sections 4 and 8(1) from 1 October 1987. Further discussions will be held with the convention on the cost implications of section 13, with a view to implementing this section as well later in 1987–88.
