How many commitments by them to introduce primary or secondary legislation concerned with the control of waste disposal are outstanding.

The Government have announced intentions to introduce primary legislation in relation to the production, transport and disposal of controlled waste; to review regulations concerning both disposal licensing and special waste; to implement Sections 12–14 of the Control of Pollution Act; to introduce regulations to implement the EC Transfrontier Shipment of Hazardous Waste Directive and to introduce regulations governing the disposal of ships' waste. Regulations on landed ships' waste came into effect on 6th April. The rest remain outstanding.
