§ Mr. DunnThe net recurrent expenditure per secondary school pupil in ILEA and the average for the outer London boroughs in 1984–85 were £1,940 and £1,250 respectively. Most Government support for local authority education is provided through the block grant element of rate support grant, which is an unhypothecated grant in support of all services. It is not possible to identify a particular element as being in support of secondary education.
