§ Mr. Pikeasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will indicate the number of beds, and their location, in the North-West regional health authority area intended for registered drug addicts.
§ Mrs. CurrieMost people admitted for drug misuse are treated in general psychiatric wards and not in beds specifically assigned for drug misusers. On 31 December 1985 there were six beds available in the North-Western regional health authority area exclusively for the treatment of drug misuse. These were in a special in-patient unit in Prestwich hospital, Manchester.
