HC Deb 23 April 1987 vol 114 c697W
46. Mr. Frank Cook

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what representations he has received concerning his decision to refer the use of tributyltin to the Pesticide Advisory Committee; and if he will make a statement as to the committee's progress.

Mr. Donald Thompson

I have received a range of representations on this subject. The Advisory Committee considered the use of tribulyltin in the aquatic environment on 16 April and recommended that when antifouling paints are brought within the scope of the Food and Environment Protection Act on 1 July this year, products containing TBT should not be granted approval for use on small vessels or fish farming apparatus.
