HC Deb 23 April 1987 vol 114 cc680-1W
Mr. Ashby

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will make available to the public a fact sheet on familial hyperlipidaemia giving information on how and where blood-tests can be taken for people with a family history of heart or blood-fat problems.

Mrs. Currie

I understand such fact sheets are available from the Family Heart Association. There is continuing research in this field, the results of which are made available to doctors. Estimates of blood lipid concentrations are available from National Health Service pathology laboratories when indicated on clinical grounds.
