§ Mr. RentonThe Twelve have consistently made clear their strong political support for President Aquino and the restoration of democracy in the Philippines. We and other partners have substantially increased bilateral aid to the Philippines since Mrs. Aquino came to power. Aid from the European Community has also increased significantly.
