Table 15 of the issue for 1985 (Cmnd. 9863) gives totals for the years 1975 to 1985. The total for 1986 was published in table 2 of Home Office statistical bulletin 3/87. Corresponding information on the total numbers of applications made and for particular areas of the United Kingdom is not readily available and could only be provided at disproportionate cost.
