§ Mr. LangMy Department and that of my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, who also has an interest in this matter, are taking all possible steps to ensure that United Kingdom companies win a fair proportion of the supply of materials for the paper mill currently being built at Irvine. We have secured undetakings from Caledonian Paper plc, the Finnish company concerned, that British companies are given a full and fair opportunity to bid for orders. We have ensured that Caledonian Paper is fully aware of the existence and abilities of relevant United Kingdom companies; that contacts have been facilitated between
