§ Mrs. RumboldThe average cost of a teacher—salary including allowances, and employers national insurance and superannuation contributions — in maintained nursery, primary and secondary schools in England and Wales on 1 September 1986 is estimated to be £13,240 per annum.
The Government's pay proposals would increase that figure to £14,330 from 1 January 1987, and to £15"410 from 1 October 1987.
