§ Mr. Maddenasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will call for a report from the Chief Constable of the Royal Ulster Constabulary about how many times Mr. Chan Hok Cheung has been interviewed by Royal Ulster Constabulary officers in connection with the inquiry pending which an officer was suspended on 18 March; and for what further assistance Mr. Chan is required by the Royal Ulster Constabulary.
§ Mr. ScottThe extent, direction and control of the investigation and any subsequent proceedings is a matter for the Chief constable and the Director of Public Prosecutions. However, I understand that Mr. Chan has been interviewed by officers from the Royal Ulster Constabulary.
