As the system does not demand any change in people's driving habits—they can use their sidelamps, automatically enhanced by dim-dip when the engine is running, or their headlamps as they choose in dull weather, twilight or in lit streets. Headlamps remain a legal obligation at night on an unlit road or in seriously reduced visibility.
