HC Deb 02 April 1987 vol 113 cc606-7W
Mr. Tony Banks

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he intends to appoint an elected representative from the Association of London Authorities to the board of the London Residuary Body.

Mr. Chope

My right hon. Friend sees no need at present to make further appointments to the London Residuary Body.

Mr. Tony Banks

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what the reason was for the appointment of Sir Peter Bowness to the board of the London Residuary Body; and when his appointment will come up for review.

Mr. Chope

Councillor Sir Peter Bowness was appointed to the London Residuary Body as the member representing the London Boroughs Co-ordinating Committee, after consultation with that committee, and in the light of his knowledge and experience of local government. His current appointment expires on 11 August 1988.
