§ Mr. WaldegraveAlthough ammonia deposition contributes to overall nitrogen loading and in soils could be contributing to increased acidification, no evidence has been found in the United Kingdom of any direct effect of ammonia on crops, trees and vegetation other than in the most extreme case of accidental releases of ammonia from fertiliser plants and industrial processes.
