§ Mr. Peter BottomleyFollowing the recent consultation with interested organisations we shall shortly be issuing a new code of practice on the carriage of passengers in wheelchairs on buses. This new code makes no distinction between community transport vehicles, public service vehicles and private vehicles. It represents the best advice available on how to secure people in wheelchairs on buses. There are no plans to make special regulations for vehicles used to carry people in wheelchairs.
