§ 121. Mr. Stanbrookasked the Prime Minister what response she has made to the proposal of Sir Henry Plumb, a member of the European Parliament, for a world food conference to consider the food surpluses of the developed world against the background of famine in the developing world.
§ The Prime MinisterWe very much share the concerns expressed by Sir Henry Plumb and we have already taken initiatives in the appropriate organisations. But famine prevention and agricultural surpluses are separate issues and must therefore be tackled separately.
