§ Sir John Biggs-Davisonasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what action was taken by Her Britannic Majesty's Government's delegation to the recent conference of the International Red Cross at Geneva in connection with the expulsion of the South African Government's delegation.
§ Mr. EggarThe United Kingdom delegation emphasised that all states parties to the Geneva conventions had the right to attend the conference. When a vote was forced, the delegation voted against a motion to suspend the South African Government delegation for failing to observe the principles of the Red Cross and humanitarian law by pursuing its apartheid policy.
