§ Mr. LeeBy 30 September 1986 the total cost of the job start allowance was £208,532. By 11 September 1986, 1 per cent. of all interviewees from the restart programme had obtained a place in a job club. The percentage of interviewees obtaining job club places is expected to rise following the recent announcement to increase the number of job clubs to 1,000 by March 1987.
