§ Mr. Deakinsasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what has been the total cost of lost interest in United Kingdom payments to the EEC paid in advance of the due date.
§ Mr. BrookeThere is in effect no interest cost: wherever an advance payment is requested, the Government always take care to ensure that, without it, the Commission would have to draw down and overdraw its non-interest-bearing accounts with member states and/or delay payments to member states.
