What is the nature of the discussions they are holding with the Canadian Government about a possible passage through the Canadian Archipelago and about Canadian sovereignty in those waters, and what international law they consider applicable.
§ Baroness YoungThe purpose of the contacts between the British Government and the Canadian Government is to seek clarification of the Canadian position on these matters. In doing so we are taking into account the relevant rules of international law concerned with the law of the sea, in particular the rules relating to baselines.
