§ Mr. Wareingasked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many representations he has received in response to the Green Paper, "Paying for Local Government"; what percentage have been (a) broadly favourable (b) broadly unfavourable and (c) neutral to the proposals; whether the representations are likely to lead to his modifying the proposals; and if he will place such representations in the Library.
§ Dr. BoysonExcluding those concerned exclusively with capital expenditure, my right hon. Friend has so far received more than 900 responses to the Green Paper. The deadline for submission of responses is 31 October, and we are still receiving representations. We shall produce a detailed analysis of the responses as soon as possible after the consultation period has ended.
