asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether he will bring up to date the information on the gross and net cost of providing school meals given in his answer to the hon. Member for Great Grimsby of 15 March 1982, Official Report, columns 39–40; and if he will give comparable figures for the provision of school transport.

Information about the number of students in receipt of sponsorships or industrial scholarships is not available. The number of national engineering scholarships made in each year since 1978–79 is as follows:
