§ Mr. TraceyThe Building Research Establishment began a detailed appraisal of Ronan Point in 1984 and identified faults in its construction. We therefore published a report of that appraisal in May 1985, and advised every local authority in England which owned similar blocks on the action they ought to take. The evidence uncovered by the demolition process reinforces the advice we then gave, but it does not give any grounds for modifying it.
