§ Mrs. CurrieWe have frequent discussions with chairmen and general managers of all regional health authorities on funding for the National Health Service, including the Northern regional health authority. We are firmly committed to the principle of equitable distribution of resources and, as regions approach their targets, it is important that these reflect relative need as fairly as possible. The review of the RAWP formula, which is currently under way, is looking at the scope for improving measurement of need and has included wide-ranging 861W consultations with health authorities and other interested parties. It is too soon to speculate on the outcome of the review but we expect an interim report later this year.
