§ Mrs. CurrieThere is a good story to tell. While the population has declined substantially from 527,000 in 1978 859W to 494,000 in 1985, revenue cash allocations to the Liverpool health authority have increased each year to the present level of £140.5 million. As a result, the number of patients treated has increased from 100,000 in 1978–79 to 108,000 in 1985/86. Additionally, more than £30 million in capital is currently being invested in the city. The waiting list has fallen from 11,951 in 1978 to 8,147 in 1986.
