§ Mr. EggarWe made representations on behalf of the European Community at the time of the July demonstrations concerning the deaths and injuries associated with them, and about the detentions of National Civic Assembly leaders. We welcome their release; and that of Ricardo Lagos and Andrea Palma, who were detained in September. We regret, however, the continued detention of German Correa and Rafael Maroto.
