§ Mr. Kenneth BakerThe Education (No. 2) Act 1986 recognises the importance of governing bodies by extending their role in vital areas such as the curriculum, discipline and the appointment of teachers in county schools. Teachers in aided schools are already employed by the governors. The Government have no plans to introduce fresh legislation on this subject.
