§ Mr. John Browneasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he publish for the last five available years (a) the actual cost account figures and (b) figures used for determining paybed charges for the weighted average hospital revenue cost per day used for the differing classes of National Health Service paybed calculations.
§ Mr. NewtonPaybed charges are derived from the annual cost accounts submitted by the 700 or so National Health Service hospitals which are authorised to treat private in-patients. It would be disproportionately costly to list the information sought.
