HC Deb 24 November 1986 vol 106 c5W
Sir Anthony Grant

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what has been the result of his Department's consultations with the United Kingdom's European Economic Community partners concerning the attempt to dump cement from Greece into the United Kingdom market; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Alan Clark

Representations have been made to the European Commission about the impact of Greek export subsidies by a number of member states. I understand that Ireland and Italy have in particular raised the question of the impact of subsidised exports of cement. The Commission and the Council will be discussing next month the future of these subsidies and the other protective measures authorised to help the Greek economy.
