§ Mr. Tony Banksasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will call for a report from the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis as to details of the items taken by the police from the Young Unknowns Gallery, London SE1, on 31 October; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Douglas HoggI understand from the Commissioner that on 31 October, officers of the counterfeit currency squad went to the Young Unknowns Gallery, London SE1 to investigate possible offences under section 18 of the Forgery and Counterfeiting Act 1981. Some 26 items, including drawings and paintings of currency, were seized. The matter has been referred to the Bank of England to consider whether proceedings should be instituted.
