§ Mr. Michael Marshallasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will consider extending the western boundary of the proposed South Downs environmentally sensitive area to (a) the A285 Chichester to Petworth road or (b) to the River Arun.
§ Mr. Donald ThompsonWe are considering all the representations which we have received about environmentally sensitive areas. We shall make our decisions known as soon as possible.
§ Mr. Michael Marshallasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food when he expects to make regulations defining the boundary of the proposed South Downs environmentally sensitive area to be created under the provisions of the Agriculture Act 1986.
§ Mr. Donald ThompsonThe boundaries of each environmentally sensitive area will be defined by the order designating that area. I hope to lay the orders before Parliament in good time to invite applications to participate in the scheme early next spring.
