§ Mr. Cohenasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what prior consultations he had with the 23 local authorities which he has decided to deny access to urban programme funds in 1987; what response he has had on this decision; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. TraceyComments were invited on 7 August from local authority associations and others about our proposals to concentrate urban programme resources on the areas of greatest need. We are carefully considering the responses received so far and I am meeting representatives of the authorities affected on 9 December.
