§ Mr. Rathboneasked the Secretary of State for the Environment when he expects to fill the existing vacancy in the Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission.
§ Mr. WaldegraveThe National Heritage Act 1983 provides for the appointment of not more than 17 members to the Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission. At present there are 14 members. Ministers regularly review the pattern and timing of appointments with the commission's chairman; I shall be doing so very shortly.
