HC Deb 17 November 1986 vol 105 cc26-7W
Mr. Latham

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department when the director of works at the Home Office intends to reply to the letters dated 21 January, 18 March, 17 July and 7 November from the Rutland district council regarding the Cornish unit dwelling which comprised the former prison officers' quarters at Her Majesty's prison, Ashwell; and whether he will instruct that that matter be dealth with immediately.

Mr. Mellor

We regret the delay in replying to the earlier letters. The queries in them were answered orally at a meeting between the Home Office chief estate officer and the chief executive of the Rutland district council on 3 September 1986. Written confirmation was not requested by the council at that meeting but has now been provided in response to the council's letter of 7 November.
